Come join us for an evening of sharing songs of resistance, workshopping lyrics together, and building community. Hosted by musicians Joselyn Walsh, Alex NO.EL Miller, and Adam O’Dell, the idea for this open mic was born at a protest as we shared just-written songs in the streets.

Mayday in Chicago is always a big deal, last year there were over 35,000 people in the streets, thousands visited the Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, where the Haymarket Memorial is located as well as hundreds of revolutionary comrades from the last 150 years or so. Defend Dissent at Broadview will be tabling!

A lineup of local Chicago bands and artists will be performing original music at Solidarity Studios in Avondale to raise money for the Defend Dissent project and other local organizations and causes. Come out to hear Weird Rabbit, Jack Sundstrom Trio, Alex NO.EL Miller, Caro Granner, and Unsolicited Feedback.
